Celebrating an Amazing Woman

Writer's picture: The Friendly HamsterThe Friendly Hamster

One hundred years ago today on March 6, 1925, Audrey Evans came into this world. Do you think her parents had any idea how she would change the world? Probably not! They quickly learned how energetic she was. And mischievous. She tried to be good, but often broke the rules. She was maddeningly headstrong. Her mom and dad loved her dearly, but she was not an easy child to parent. Years later the very traits that got Audrey in trouble when she was growing up gave us more effective treatments for children's cancers, more child-friendly hospitals, family-centered care, Ronald McDonald houses, and the St. James School. Audrey loved celebrating her birthday with students from St. James. Celebrate her today in your own way. Try to make it loud enough for her to hear you in Heaven. They are probably partying there too!

Audrey loved celebrating her birthday with the students at St. James School. The cake needs a lot more candles!
